2004 Capital City Band Expo and The Capital Cup Finals CompetitionSanderson High School, Raleigh, NC It was a cool, beautiful fall afternoon when the ADHS Band competed against 20 other bands in the Capital City Band Expo, all competing for a shot at the evening's Capital Cup finals competition. Along with ADHS, West Craven HS, Jacksonville HS, and CE Jordan HS competed in Class AAA. Athens came home with the following awards from the Expo:- Class AAA Percussion, First Place
- Class AAA Music Performance and Effect, Second Place
- Class AAA Visual Performance and Effect, Second Place
- Class AAA Overall, Second Place
- Best Pit Crew of the Day
Athens Drive's rating during the afternoon performance earned them a spot in the prestigious finals, where they finished a very impressive fourth behind Cary High School, Concord High School, and C.
